Star Wars' Anakin Skywalker Actor News: Jake Lloyd Arrested After Car Chase

It has just been confirmed that 'Star Wars' child star Jake Lloyd, who played the famous role of Anakin Skywalker was recently arrested in South Carolina after an alleged high-speed chase wherein Lloyd crossed two counties.

Lloyd had his break out role in the film 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace' which was on the big screens in 1999. And just last Wednesday, the former child star was arrested and facing charges including reckless driving, driving without a license, failing to stop for a blue light and resisting arrest.

"On Wednesday afternoon, around 1:30 p.m., we received a call from the Charleston County office...we were told a car had crossed over county lines into our county, Colleton County," a police spokesperson told E! News. "The car was speeding and passed over double yellow lines. We were able to find the car that matched the description and the chase ensued."

Apparently, the police had a hard time to resist the actor who was driving over 100 miles per over even revealed that Lloyd was being chased for 20 minutes. "We initiated blue lights and the car continued onward," the police spokesperson continued. "The car drove through the woods and wrecked out after having crashed through a small fence and a number of trees. He was apprehended at that time, about 2 p.m. The chase had been going on for about 20 minutes before his arrest."

Although Lloyd reportedly didn't seem to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, he however informed the cops once he was arrested that he was Jake Broadbent. "He resisted arrest and once handcuffed, we had trouble getting information out of him," the spokesperson added. "He told police his name was Jake Broadbent. He was quiet and didn't say a lot. He was alone."

Lloyd, whose name will be registered as Jake Broadbent in court had a bail set at $10,000 dollars. Reportedly, Lloyd was still detained last Sunday and has a court hearing scheduled in July.
