Star Wars 7 Cast Rumors: Obi-Wan Kenobi Returns as Jedi Ghost in "Episode 7" Along with Emperor Palpatine Clone? 2015 Release Date

Will Obi-Wan Kenobi return for Star Wars 7?

The latest details out of Star Wars 7 camp claim Ewan McGregor's beloved Jedi will play a big part in the upcoming sci-fi movie, even though he was slain by Darth Vader in the original movie.

Though nothing has been confirmed, we do know from the original Star Wars  trilogy that Jedis can use the force to appear as ghosts. Obi-Wan reappeared in all three original movies to guide Luke in times of peril.

Will McGregor return to Episode 7 as a ghost-heavy character? According to reports from Latino Review this will be the most ghost-heavy film in the Star Wars franchise.

So if Obi-Wan is returning as a ghost, whom is he helping out? Who is the ebenficiary of the great Jedi master's knowledge? Will he appear as the young McGregor? That seems a like a bit of a continuity problem when Alec Guinness appeared as an older version of the character in a storyline that chronologically, happened years before.

Before the addition of Ewan McGregor to the cast of Star Wars 7, rumors were buzzing that Ian McDiarmid would be back to reprise his role as Emperor Palpatine. Again, another continuity error? If rumors are true, how will Palpatine return from the dead after being slain by Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi? Could Palpatine have been wise enough to clone himself before the duel with Vader's son?

Star Wars Episode 7 is scheduled for a 2015 release date, but we all know how that goes so don't be surprised if the premiere gets pushed back to 2016.
