Singer-songwriter Lauren Béa is independently releasing her debut album, Wildflower, on Friday, Oct. 26. Produced by Otto Price in Nashville, Tenn., Béa co-wrote all eleven songs on the record together with Price and Krissy Nordhoff.
Showcasing her powerful vocals on each song on the album, the project's lyrics draw inspiration from Béa's life, faith, and family. The album is named Wildflower after a passage in the Bible from the Book of Luke in chapter twelve, verse two, where Jesus proclaims, "Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."
"I'm very excited about releasing my new album, as it has a message for women to believe that they were created perfect in God's image," Béa explains. "I grew up in a bi-racial family and was bullied in school, which led to me feeling empty, unworthy and not enough."
She continues, "The most beautiful thing we can do is embrace the fact that we are chosen and loved unconditionally by the creator of the universe. Wildflower is an anthem of truth, and I hope it will bring support and comfort to women everywhere."
Aside from being a dynamic entertainer, Béa's intimate songs have proven to connect with a wide audience. Women have related to the title track which empowers females to know they are beautiful just how God made them.
Another song on the album, "Everything," is deeply personal for Béa, as she wrote it following the loss of a child during her pregnancy earlier this year. "Treasure," and "Love Me," feature more of a rap vibe, and she also brings out the worship on songs like, "What A Beautiful Name," "Trust In You," and "Sovereign Still."
Having an evangelist father, faith and music have always been a part of Béa's life. She started singing at a young age and has been active as a worship team member at churches throughout most of her life.
Béa is now married to former NFL linebacker Keenan Robinson and they currently live together in Nashville with their two-year-old daughter Kaidence.
Wildflower will be available to stream and download everywhere on Friday, Oct. 26.
