'Scandal' Season 5 Episode 20 Preview: Doyle Going To Trump Mellie and Susan?

Scandal's penultimate episode proves to be one of the most interesting yet for the season.

As the race for President continues, Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Susan (Artemis Pebdami) might get trumped by none other than Hollis Doyle (Gregg Henry).

While the conflict between Susan and Mellie continues, Doyle advances steadily in the race by using his charisma to increase his followers. This brings Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Abby (Darby Stanchfield) to forget their differences for a while and focus instead on taking Hollis Doyle down.

However, this newly found camaraderie seems like a big show as the promo shows the two women unable to forget about their rivalry.  The episode reveals Abby in a secret meeting with Eli (Joe Morton) in a plot to ruin Millie. Meanwhile, Olivia also forges a deal of her own with Doyle, whom they are supposed to destroy.

In the episode, Doyle receives the Florida Governor's endorsement, which has been a source of competition for the three republican candidates. In order to prevent this, Susan helps the politician with her sugar scandal in exchange for her support. Mellie also drags in her ex-husband and US President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) to the frenzy. Doyle's triumph continues despite these attempts to inhibit his consistent surge in popularity.

The episode will rifle through Edison's timeline (Norm Lewis). The Episode shows him coming into realization that he might have made a mistake in involving Rowan (Norm Lewis) and Jake (Scott Foley) in his campaign.

"Scandal" Season 5 episode 20 "Trump Card" airs May 5 at 9:00 pm on ABC.
