Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date: Decline in Sales Prompts Samsung to Advance Galaxy S6 Launch

Latest reports suggest that the South Korean tech giant Samsung is considering to reshape its overall strategy as well as production for 2015. As a result of this and several other issues, the company is likely to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S6, earlier than expected.

The company reportedly seems to be perturbed over the poor sales of its current flagship smartphone - Galaxy S5, during the last two quarters. Results of the third quarter sales show that the company's net profit has taken a sharp plunge, primarily owing to the dismal sales of the Galaxy S5. The sales figures have been declining steady since the launch of this device earlier this year.

The drop in Samsung's sales has been attributed to the handsets of business rivals. The matter has worsened since the launch of Apple's iPhone 6 in September. Despite being in the market for a very brief period, the iPhone 6 has received rave reviews from critics and has even been lauded by the consumers. As a result, numerous customers have preferred the Apple's smartphone to the Galaxy S5.

Now, Samsung is hoping that the release of the Galaxy S6 will help the company to regain its market share and boost profits. Therefore, plans are afoot to launch the device ahead of its previously scheduled release date. According to earlier reports, the Galaxy S6 was scheduled for a March 2015 launch, ahead of the World Mobile Congress in Berlin that begins from March 2.

In addition to rescheduling the Galaxy S6 launch date, Samsung is also likely to overhaul its smartphone lineup by releasing 30 percent less smartphones in 2015.  According to the Financial Times, Samsung is contemplating to change its management lineup. There are rumors that Shin Jong-kyun, the co-chief executive of Samsung Electronics, will be replaced. However, the company itself has not confirmed any of these reports.
