Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks QB, Says Jesus Christ Appeared to Him in a Dream When He Was 14 (VIDEO)

It is no secret that Russell Wilson is a man who has strong faith in Jesus Christ, but most people probably do not know that he was once visited by the King of Kings in a dream when he was only 14 years old.

"When I was a young kid, I use to always go to church. My parents would take me, I knew about God and stuff like that, but I was always playing sports. I got so preoccupied with that that part in my life. I was kind of a bad kid growing up," said Wilson in the "Making of a Champion: Seattle Seahawks" documentary video.

He added, "I had a dream one night. I was at UVA football camp, it was a Saturday night and my parents were supposed to pick me up for Sunday school. I had a dream that my father passed away and that Jesus came into the room and he was basically knocking on my door saying 'Hey, you need to know more about me.'"

Wilson also revealed in the documentary what happened to him at Sunday School in 2003 after having the memorable dream the night before.

"So that Sunday morning I end up going to church and that was when I got saved. It was either June or July when I was 14 years old. I think it was that moment of when I realized that dreams are really real because my dad did end up passing away six years later. I think it got me through a lot of adversity," said Wilson.

The 25-year-old Cincinnati native also discussed his childhood before he was saved by Christ as a teenager.

"Like I said I was a bad kid, I used beat up kids and bite kids and do stuff all the time but I realized that God gave me so much talent that I wanted to give Him the glory," said Wilson.

Wilson's God given abilities helped the Seattle Seahawks win their first ever championship in franchise history, when the second year QB helped them defeat the Denver Broncos by 43-8 at Super Bowl XLVIII.

"It's a true, true blessing. God is so good. We believed we would get here. At the beginning of the season I told our guys, 'Hey, why not us?' We believed that we could get here. We had the talent. We had the coaching staff..." said Wilson to reporters following the biggest win of his career on February 2.
