'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date: Leaked Title & Launch Date for Rockstar's New Game?

It has been a long five years since the hit Rockstar game 'Red Dead Redemption' arrived and a lot of gamers have learned to love the game but rumors claim that maybe it's time for a sequel since it has been so long since the title has been updated and loyal gamers are definitely enthusiastic about the idea.

Rumors of a 'Red Dead Redemption 2' sparked when a certain developer named AnonDN1978 leaked information on Reddit claiming that he was working on the sequel and that he hates his boss so he decided to leak an interesting piece of information, the title of the sequel.

The title was said to be 'Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West'. While Rockstar or any other official from the game company, has not confirmed the news, they are delighted about fans' excitement with the rumored sequel of the game.

"It's wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for the 'Red Dead' series, and nearly 5 years after Red Dead Redemption's release(!)," Rockstar said in a statement. Although not announcing a sequel, the company opened the possibility of a new game for the 'Red Dead' series.

"As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as 'Red Dead Redemption,' 'Bully' and 'L.A. Noire,' we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually," the statement continued.

As Rockstar doesn't want to rush making sequels, rumors claim that if indeed there will be a sequel, it has a high chance to be released early in 2016 and will be revealed this year at the E3 Conference.

Meanwhile, CEO of Rockstar, Strauss Zelnick also spoke recently in his interview with VG347 assuring their games to be permanent ones despite their limited releases every year. "We've launched one new successful franchise every year and I would like to keep doing that particularly because I talk about permanent franchises, but not everything is going to be a permanent franchise," he said.

"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that 'GTA' is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or 'Borderlands,' for example, and 'NBA' and others," Zelnick added.
