Ray Rice's Wife Janay Breaks Silence Regarding NFL Suspension, Ex-Baltimore Raven Has 'Relationship' With God (VIDEOS)

After the NFL suspended the former Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice, his wife Janay finally broke her silence regarding the current controversy surrounding her husband.

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," wrote Mrs. Rice on her Instagram page recently.

"But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his a** of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific."

Mrs. Rice continued to criticize the media after new footage of her soulmate knocking her out and dragging her unconscious body out of an elevator seven months ago was leaked online.

"THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you," said Mrs. Rice.

The ex-NFL athlete and his then fiancée Janay Palmer were detained and charged with assault after a physical altercation at Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 15, 2014.

"We're taking the necessary steps to move forward," said Rice in a press conference describing his actions as "inexcusable" in July after the couple got married on March 28, 2014, "My job is to lead my family. My job is to lead my wife. My job is to lead in whatever I do. And If I'm not being the example, then my family crumbles."

During Ravens' Super Bowl (XLVII) championship run in 2012, Rice talked about his love for God and his family in a 'Faith and Football' Youtube video.

"...If you're going through life as a football player, and you can be blind by many things...If you have faith in God, you realize that football in the NFL is a short span in your life. You have to live life after football and to think that I'm in the NFL and it is not a blessing, you're only kidding yourself," said Rice in the aforementioned video.

"There is going to be a day where the game is going end to end for all of us, and that's what life is after football. You gotta build a relationship now with God right now, because when it's over, it's over. You don't want to leave this earth having any regret, having anything that you have on your mind. I want to live a complete a complete life and obviously family and everything that comes along with that."

Rice further express his views on faith and sports in the same interview two years ago.

"Faith and football does goes hand-in-hand with each other, because you can't go through this league without believing in anything because then you will find yourself living in a fantasy world," said Rice.

Mrs. Rice's official Instagram header has the following statement written on her private page:

"'No weapon formed against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you...." Isaiah 54:17.
