Christian recording artist Christon Gray on Friday released his latest album, Clear The Heir, on Fo Yo Soul and Essential Sound. The new eleven-track album is the acclaimed rapper, singer and producer's fourth solo album and features the ferocity of sparkling wordplay, potent anthems, and personal tales that Gray is known for, according to a press release.
The new album strengthens the bond Gray has forged with a wide range of listeners over his past three albums, with hit songs such as "Stop Me, "Open Door," "Ft. Knox," and "Connor McDees." Clear The Heir features the new singles, "Together Forever," "Time Out," and "Grow Up," where Gray bridges hip-hop, soul, R&B, and inspiration.
The new record brings fans on a journey where Gray bares reflections on family, relationships, and trials, discovering deeper meanings to inspire the spirit. Speaking about the album's significance, Gray says, "With this album, Clear The Heir, I wanted to give permission for people to feel comfortable in their uncomfortable skin, and I wanted Christians to feel permission to be human again."
For the production and songwriting on Clear The Heir, Gray teamed up with frequent collaborators such as his brother Taelor Gray, JGivens, Brian Reith, as well as Manchester Orchestra's Andy Hull and Underoath guitarist Tim McTague. The record continues to showcase Gray's distinctive musicality that is anything but conventional, on songs like "Gray," "By the Way," "You & I (Samson's Lament)," "Take Me to the Water," and more.
