'Quantico' Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Next Season To Unveil Behind Truth Of 'Shelby's Parents' Death?'

"Quantico" season 2 will reveal the truth behind the death of Shelby's parents. In season 1, the blonde FBI agent mourned the death of her parents believing that they died during the September 11 New York attack, but eventually learned that they were actually alive.

It turned out though, that her parents only faked their death so that they would not be charged with terrorism.

The 17th episode of season 1 saw Laura and Glenn Wyatt telling Shelby that the systems software which they sold to the Afghani government in the late 90's was the one used by the Taliban during the September 11 attack. The same software blasted the twin towers and killed thousands of innocent people in New York. However, an agent hired by Miranda to conduct an investigation on the death of the duo found out later on that they were indeed dead, sparking confusion among the fans of the freshman thriller.

In a recent interview, "Quantico" executive producer Joshua Safran tried to shed light on the issue.

Referring to the death of Shelby's parents, he said, "It is open to interpretation."

"She definitely tells that to Alex, and then Miranda is told by an agent that the story checks out. But whether that story is true or not is something that we definitely will be looking into," he added.

Shelby Wyatt was not the best apprentice in the FBI Academy, but she was able to prove her worth as an FBI agent. She is considered as one of the most interesting characters in the series.

"Quantico" season 2 premieres on ABC this fall.
