Pope Francis Says God Will Take Him to Heaven in '2 or 3 Years' (VIDEO)

In a recent interview, Pope Francis made a shocking revelation regarding how many years he thinks he has left on this Earth.

"I see it as the generosity of the people of God. I try to think of my sins, my mistakes, not to become proud. Because I know it will last only a short time. Two or three years and then I'll be off to the Father's House," said Pope Francis to reporters on August 18 when he returned to the Vatican after a recent trip to South Korea.

The Pope (born Jorge Mario Bergoglio) did not reveal how or why he believes he will be called up to Heaven by 2017, but he did mentioned that he required treatment due to "some nerve problems."

"Must treat them well, these nerves, give them mate [which a stimulant tea from his native country Argentina] every day," said Francis, "One of these neuroses, is that I'm too much of a homebody."

Pope Francis also revealed that the last time he took a vacation away from the aforementioned South American nation was when he was part of the Jesuit community nearly four decades ago in 1975.

Francis also revealed that like his predecessor (Pope Benedict XVI) he might also retire from his position if he feels can no longer perform his duties as Pope.

"Benedict XVI opened a door," said Francis.

The Pontiff also mentioned that when he first succeed Benedict XVI (born Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger) on March 13, 2013, it was a tough transition for him.

"[At first it] scared me a little," said Francis.

However, he also revealed that he now feels more comfortable in his role as the top religious figure within the Roman Catholic Church.

Pope Francis recently visited the Middle East and saw some of the religious sites that are depicted in the Bible, many of which are located in Israel and Palestine.
