Pokemon X and Y News, Events Announced for This Summer; Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Pre-Orders Available

Pokemon X and Y had seven new tournaments announced over the weekend and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire had a news update concerning details of the game.

New tournaments for XY are heading parts of Europe and Asia this Summer and will run into the Fall. According to Serebii, standard rules state matches will be Double Battles featuring Pokemon from the Kalos region. Mewtwo, Xerneas, Ylvetal, and Zygarde will not be allowed.

In June there will be a Think Fast Single Battle and a 2014 International Battle. July will hold an Eevee Friendly Match and All Star Battle. In August there will be a Think Fast Double Battle, and in the Fall, Fairy Type Cup and Halloween Party.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has been spotted for pre-order on Newegg for $39.99.

"I think these games are going to cause another huge change in the world of battling. They will be released in November of this year, so until then you'll still be battling using Pokemon X and Y," said Shingeki Morimoto, battle director of those games to Nintendo-Insider.

Some of the latest rumors surrounding the game indicate there may Mega Evolutions in the game.

According to Joystiq, they believe the new trailer reveals not only updated graphics and enhanced visuals, but different designs of the Pokemon represented in the trailer. The two showed are Groudon and Kyogre, which look somewhat different from normal. The box are and what is shown in the video are look very different from each other. The Pokemon company reported the games will be arriving for the 3DS in November. The two new games are remakes of the Game Boy Advance classics that came out in 2003, Ruby and Sapphire.

"Pokémon fans will collect, battle, and trade Pokémon in a new adventure," said a short press release by the Pokemon Company. "The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world."

Not much more was revealed by the game, but gamers can speculate it will be revamped into X and Y's 3D style.
