'Pokemon GO' News: Nintendo’s Title Gets July Release Date, John Hanke Talks What To Expect

New details on the pre-order and release date for Nintendo's "Pokemon GO" have surfaced. Also, Niantic CEO John Hanke shared his thoughts on the upcoming game.

Fans can expect a July release for the "Pokemon GO," as per Neurogadget. According to the publication, the game is set to be available to players on Android and iOS; however, this bars the in-app features like the PokeCoins. It is revealed that the coins can be bought using virtual money in-game. Moreover, the said coins can be used to buy game enhancements, items, and power-ups.

The "Pokemon GO" also comes with the Pokemon GO Plus, which allows players to use the app even they are not touching their phones. Gamers who preordered the device are set to receive it on July 31.

In other news, Niantic CEO John Hanke shared his insights about the upcoming game and according to him, it is the fusion of the Google Maps and Ingress.

In his interview with Popular Science, Hanke said that the idea for "Pokemon GO" had come from 2014's Google Maps prank, the first interaction between Niantic and the Pokemon Company. According to Hanke, they also had had some practice building the same sort of experience with the reality game Ingress, which utilizes their real location.

"Pokemon GO is a combination of the two," Hanke said.

When asked about how "Pokemon GO" differed from the core "Pokemon" games, Hanke said that the game was a little bit different in how the trainer evolved the Pokemon. He added that there was the whole hatching process with eggs and incubators, allowing trainers to incubate the Pokemon eggs while they were walking around.

It is also revealed that locales where players can gather items are based on actual historical sites; as per Hanke, they drew parallels to the video game, but they still offered their own complexities.

Overall, fans can expect "Pokemon GO" for Android and iOS this month. Watch the game trailer here.
