The war rages on between the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. How do the two new consoles from Sony and Microsoft measure up back to back?

Here's a comprehensive look at console release date, price, features, specs and exclusive/nonexclusive games.

Release date:

PlayStation 4:

- U.S. = November 15, 2013
- Europe = November 29, 2013

Xbox One:

- U.S. and Europe = November 22, 2013

Basically if you're a U.S. gamer and need a new console ASAP, go with the PS4.

Price:

- The PlayStation 4 will run you $100 less than the Microsoft console. The PS4 is priced at $399.99 while the Xbox One is set for $499.99. Again, the advantage goes to Sony.

- Both consoles come with a Blu-ray/DVD optical drive. The two don't share the same processor specs however. The PS4 has a single-chip x86 AMD "Jaguar" processor with 8 cores, while the Xbox One has an 8 core Microsoft custom CPU.

The PlayStation 4 has an AMD Radeon Graphics Core Next engine GPU with 1152 shaders. The Xbox One has an 853 MHz AMD Radeon GPU with 768 shaders. The PS4 also wins with 8GB GDDR5 RAM while it's competitor has 8GB DDR3 RAM.

Both consoles have 500 GB of storage. However only the PS4 is user removable.

As for features, neither console is backward compatible but both offer cross game chat.

Both consoles one controller included. Sony provides the PS4 Dual Shock controller while Microsoft packs in the Xbox One Wireless controller.

Both feature voice commands, Wi-Fi Internet connections, USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI ports. Only the PS4 supports BluTooth.

What will really get your attention is the list of confirmed games for each console.
