'Planet Coaster' Update: Recent Update Features New Rides, Festive Winter Items And Scenarios

Popular theme park fettling game Planet Coaster is getting a free winter update from its developer, Frontier Developments. The new update will feature all sorts of festive winter items, new rides and a lot more.

Among the features of the update are the new Collider and Bumpin' Derby rides, the Sleigh Ride and the Iron Horse tracked rides for gamers who want gentler puttering around the theme park. It also comes with a new scenario, winter theme and scenery objects, as well as a set of five new coaster blueprints.

According to community manager Bo Marit, Collider is "a retro sci-fi ride with 20 swinging gondolas on a horizontal Ferris Wheel," while Bumpin' Derby is a "long-time favorite."

One of the biggest highlights is the ability for gamers to make their own scenery snow-covered and build their own snowman. The Festive King Coaster's Crackers also lets gamers earn up to nine more stars.

The new update also offers new macro management features that are designed to allow gamers to globally set prices, synch shops and open and close attractions and shops. It also features an "All Staff" view which does essentially all the same things for the employees, as well as a new "recently used" tab in each browser category.

Alongside its announcement of the new update, Frontier also announced its plan to have a 24-hour charity livestream that will feature the community managers of Planet Coaster and Elite: Dangerous.
