It has been three weeks since Showtime released its new TV show, Penny Dreadful, and more fans are drawn to its gothic appeal. Penny Dreadful takes on a darker and scarier plot involving Van Helsing's collaboration with Dr. Frankenstein for a cure of the disease they have to figure out.

In Episode 3 Resurrection, Dr. Frankenstein is confronted by snippets of his dark past, while Vanessa had a vision of Mina. In an interview with Radio Times, Doctor Who's Billie Piper commented that the show is getting scarier than it has ever been since the first few episodes.

"I've never been scared by the Daleks myself as much as [Penny Dreadful] has all these supernatural elements [like Doctor Who]. I think it's largely about mortality. It's about lots of people existing on the outskirts of society and becoming one and living with demons and darkness -- and I think all of that is pretty scary. Far scarier than a Dalek!" Piper revealed.

Meanwhile, Episode 4 deals with Sir Malcolm hiring Van Helsing to work with Dr. Frankenstein in finding a cure to an unknown disease. The virus that eats humans will plague the characters for quite some time as they struggle to identify its origin. Penny Dreadful is famous as the show with the biggest ensemble of horror characters to date.
