Oscar Pistorius Murder Trial Case Update: Pub Brawl, Mental Illness?

The trial surrounding Oscar Pistorious and his murder of his long time girl friend Reeva Steenkamp has finally concluded after a long period of four months. The jury is expected to announce the news about the sentencing in a matter of a few weeks.

If the blade runner is found guilty of murder then he could be look at as many as twenty five years in prison.

The Oscar Pistorious case is closely being watched by people around the globe and is known to be one of the most high profile murder trials of all time.

Right from the beginning it has been maintained by Pistorious and his legal team that he had ended up killing his girlfriend by accident. However, evidence that had been collected from the crime scene showed that the contrary is what had happened. Pistorious had directly fired at his girlfriend on Valentine's Day last year, ending her life in a matter of seconds.

The sprinter has been managing to get into quite a bit of a controversy even away from the trial. Very recently he was found engaging in a brawl at a pub in a drunken state.

A gold medalist at the Para Olympics, Oscar had admitted once during trial that he had serious drinking problems and that mentally too, he was not quite there.

In fact his mental problems have been stressed upon quite a bit by his lawyers to defend his actions and urge the court to send him for rehabilitation and counseling rather than putting him away in prison.
