‘Orange is the New Black’ Season 3 Release Date: Creator Previews Stories of ‘Faith’ on the Show [VIDEO]

'Orange is the New Black' is set to return to Netflix's sometime in the Summer of 2015, and show runner Jenji Kohan teases that Season 3 showcases a radical transition, not only with the characters, but also with the plot.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kohan detailed that Orange's female inmates will be dealing with a lot of bloodshed and different versions of "faith." In Season 1, Pennsatucky was featured in her faith healing as well as Sister Jane Ingalls in the following season.

Kohan said that faith as displayed in the show, does not only deal with religious beliefs, but also with the prisoner's confidence with each other, "I don't know if it's the subject, the characters, the way it's consumed or a combination of all those factors, but people's investment with these women is greater than anything I've seen before," Kohan said.

Meanwhile, 'Orange is the New Black' bags a total of 12 nominations for the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards to be held on August 25, 2014. Taylor Schilling, who plays the role of Piper Chapman, is nominated as Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, while co-actress Kate Mulgrew vies for the Best Supporting Actress award.

In addition to that, Natasha Lyonne, Uzo Aduba, and Laverne Coz are nominees for the Outstanding Guest in a Comedy Series awards. OITNB is also handpicked for other categories including Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Art Direction as well as Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for three of its episodes.
