One Direction Zayn Malik Death Threats After Posting #FreePalestine on Twitter

One Direction member Zayn Malik has been bombarded with death threats after the singer posted a #FreePalestine message on Twitter.

The 21-year old shared the #FreePalestine hashtag with his 13 million followers. Since Monday afternoon the post has been retweeted more than 160,000 times.

Moments after it appeared, Malik began receiving a massive amount of responses from people on both sides of the issue, and even some horrifying messages telling him to "kill yourself" and one even read, "Let me kill you."

One tweet read, "U have fans in #Israel. It broke me that one of my idols wand me to die @benwinstone @harry_styles @onedirection (sic)."

The original post was removed within minutes, but it has already been retweeted thousands of times. Shortly after that he posted, "Let's pray for peace and a swift end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict! Is there any hope?"

Meanwhile, other musicians supported Malik on his tweet. Among them is Naughty Boy, a musician who collaborated with Malik, Emeli Sande and Sam Romans on a song entitled "One Chance to Dance." One hour after Malik's tweet Naughty Boy wrote the following on his Twitter account:

"eid Mubarak. they will never outshine the most high. be patient people. blood is on there hands. #inshallah"

Portishead's Geoff Barrow also praised Malik, tweeting "Good on you kid"¦@zaynmalik"

The other members of One Direction have made no comment on Malik's tweet. The group recently released a trailer for their film 'We are One' which began selling tickets earlier today.
