One Direction singer Zayn was missing in action during the band's album release day performance on the 'Today Show' but has since returned, and fans took to Twitter to compare his return to the second coming of Christ.

Pop culture has been known to esteem celebrities as God, but Tuesday night when Zayn reunited with his band on stage in Orlando; tweeters compared the 21-year-old to Jesus Christ himself. According to his band members, Zayn missed the important album release date appearance on the 'Today Show' because he had a "tummy bug."

Host Matt Lauer seemed annoyed that Zayn was missing and actually suggested that it might be a substance abuse issue, but his band members immediately dismissed the claim. Zayn lashed back in an interview with The Sun and also refuted the allegations. Zayn however did make his way back on stage and that is when the celestial comparisons began.
