Nintendo 3DS Release Date, Specs: US Launch 2015, New System- Faster CPU, Better Camera, Improved 3D Looking Angles

Recently, Nintendo unveiled its latest gaming system - the New Nintendo 3DS System, at the Japanese Nintendo Direct. The upcoming 3DS version, which comes with new shoulder buttons and an integrated stick, is slated for a U.S release in 2015.

The New Nintendo 3DS and 3DS LL will be released in Japan on Oct. 11 and be priced at 16000 yen ($153) for 3DS and 18000 ($172) yen for 3DS LL. Sources say that the two are likely to be released in North America and Europe by 2015.

There are rumors that the upcoming Nintendo 3DS update will also incorporate a newer CPU for speed improvement, which will make downloading and browsing faster. Apart from the latest Nintendo 3DS rumors, this new model also comes with improved 3D looking angles, as it has an enhanced camera tracker.

A report in Polygon on Nintendo 3DS says, "Retailers are going to have a hard time explaining that there is a system called the 3DS that plays this subset of 3DS games, but not all the 3DS games. Customers will glaze over before they get to the part where if they want to play every 3DS game they'll need to buy the latest model, which comes in two sizes, or that their existing 3DS merely plays most 3DS games, as does the 2DS, because the new 3DS is a bit faster."

Sources said that the new Nintendo 3DS model has upgraded structure figures and better details. The device is slightly bigger, thicker and weighs 18 grams more than its forerunner. The new Nintendo 3DS LL., which was named 3DS XL for the international market, is slightly bigger, but slimmer and even weighs 7 grams less than its predecessor. As both models have increased their dimensions, they now have augmented display sizes.

The new 3DS as well as 3DS LL supports NFC and SD to MicroSD. Some of improvements announced by Nintendo are listed below.

Both the new 3DS as well as 3DS LL offer better 3D Quality, have built-in NFC, support seven-hour battery life, come with MicroSD support, Gyro sensor, two new bumper buttons, wireless PC backup support, HTML5 browser, clock increase CPU and comes with an additional analog stick.

Sources further said that the new Nintendo 3DS System has powerful internal hardware that will excel when playing the new 'Xenoblade Chronicles' title, a game that has been specially developed for the upcoming system.
