Sneaker enthusiasts and athletes were happy to hear that Nike released KD 7 Premium Gold Medal shoes, inspired by Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant, on Nov. 22.

Nike described the footwear inspired by Durant as: "Reminiscent of trophies, the KD 7 Premium comes dipped in Metallic Gold. Prideful Midnight Navy covers the mesh upper and strap with hints of Bright Crimson on the tongue and Flywire. This premium design is topped off with a subtle star print on the inner lining."

The KD 7 Premium Gold Medal launched on Nov. 22 at 8 am EST or 5 am PST at a price of $170 on Nike's online store. The sneakers come in a combination of colors, midnight navy, bright crimson, and metallic gold.

The footwear will also be available at select Foot Locker and House of Hoops by Foot Locker stores.

The KD 7 Premium Gold Medal was first seen in September after Durant posted an Instagram picture of them. Fans wondered if the release of the footwear was going to push through following Durant's withdrawal from the team after the Paul George injury.

Nike pushes through and offers their latest footwear in honor of Durant, despite the NBA MVP dropping out of this season's competition. KD7 Premium Gold Medal colorway featured bright crimson along the tongue tab and eyelets that accentuated the complimentary hues of trophy gold and navy blue at the upper.

The KD 7 Premium Gold Medal was also built for natural motion and cushioned support and is outfitted with a data-informed shank and 180 degrees Nike Zoom unit. There are Flywire cables that work together with a Hyperposite construction to stabilize the wearer's foot and allow dynamic changes of direction while the user is in motion.

Nike previously released another KD 7 colorway, called the KD 7 GS Carnival, on Aug. 9, which was available only for infant to GS sizes and featured a vibrant color palette to entice young athletes.

The release of the KD 7 Premium Gold Medal rests alongside the release of another basketball player-inspired shoe by Nike, the LeBron 12 Instinct from Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James. The LeBron 12 Instinct was also released on Nov. 22 for $200, in colors such as cave purple and a combination of hyper grape, hyper crimson and hyper turquoise.
