'NHL 17' News: Online Beta Draws Mixed Emotions From Hockey Enthusiasts, Players

The "NHL 17" online beta has been getting mixed emotions from hockey enthusiasts and players. With the game set to be released next month, it would be interesting to know what these people think about it and what they have experienced while playing it.

According to Suz guru, to improve the play experience of the game, EA took away the player-controlled rating progression and replaced it with classes instead. There will be four new classes in "NHL 17," namely the jumbo playmaker, the hitting sniper, the two-way dangler and on the defensive end, the puck moving defenseman. The artificial intelligence (AI) of companions seemed to have improved in the "NHL 17" beta according to the site.

In an online forum called HF Boards, a couple of fans and enthusiastic players expressed their thoughts about the open beta. While there was this one user who expressed how impressed he was about the improvements of the game, a majority of the people in the forum expressed their disappointment in the open beta.

A user by the name of Pierce Hawthorne said that he was impressed with the game, and said that he couldn't get over just how the game has improved and is so good now.

"The AI are as good as they've ever been. The puck physics work beautifully well so far, and the goaltenders work amazingly as well, they feel like they're actually involved in the play and on the same ice instead of being separate entities like they felt in previous games."

A lot of players disagreed with him, however. Dreakon 13, a registered user on the forum, was one of the people disappointed with the free beta.

"I'm so sick of this beta. I've played maybe four Online Versus games from start to finish and I'm just so fed up with it. I really want to like it but ugh..." He said that there is not much depth and higher level of understanding in the video game.

"NHL 17" is scheduled for a release date on September 13 and will be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
