Nexus 6 Release Date News: October 2014 Launch Rumors, Google Remains Silent

While Google has yet to confirm any of the reports circulating on the Internet regarding its much-awaited flagship smartphone Nexus 6 and its release date, mobile enthusiasts seem to be getting all the more impatient.

A recent report on 9to5Google has, however, confirmed that the Nexus 6 is not merely a concept phone, but something real. It further reported that the tech giant has selected the network carrier T-Mobile for its latest device, which is likely to be released sometime during the last quarter of 2014.

The 9to5Google report also stated that the upcoming Nexus 6 smartphone will incorporate a new feature termed Wi-Fi calling, which will be supported by Google's upcoming mobile operating system Android 5, popularly called Android L.

Another report by Expert Review said that the Nexus 6, which is also being called Nexus X, will possibly be manufactured by Motorola. This is the main reason why the look of the upcoming Nexus 6 will be somewhat similar to that of the Moto X.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the Nexus 6 will come with a 5.2-inch screen similar to the Moto X. In addition, the upcoming device from Google will also feature a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset along with a high CPU speed, which may be very close to 2.5GHz.

The device will also have a 13MP primary rear camera, in addition to a 2.1MP front camera having a number of outstanding capabilities such as autofocus, LED flash and optical image stabilization. The upcoming smartphone will also run with a 32GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM.

According to rumors, the Nexus 6 phone will be powered with a 3100 mAh Li-Polymer battery pack, and it can be connected online through Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth 4.0.

Some reports have speculated that the Nexus 6 will have a curved LCD display and it will be available in a very light, polycarbonate casing, something different from the second-generation Moto X.

A report by International Business Times has further implied that the phone will have a starting price of $400, and it may be released sometime in October 2014.
