The New York Knicks are looking good this year at the start of the new NBA season, as they've won two out of their first three games.

According to Latino Post, Phil Jackson, New York Knicks' president is looking for great trade deals, which will help his team make it to the playoffs this season. It was believed that the Knicks' interest on Copeland sprung from his expiring contract with the Pacers. On the other hand, Smith has an existing two-year contract, but can be a free agent next summer. Moreover, Smith confessed that he is struggling to cope with the new system because he was trained in shoot-first mentality.

In addition, Andrea Bargnani's and Amare Stoudemire's contracts are set to expire respectively. This will pave way for an enough cap space for a new top tier free agent for this coming summer.

The expected top free agents will be Rajon Rondo, Marc Gasol and Greg Monroe. Kevin Durant will also top the 2016 free agents list, until he re-signs with Oklahoma City Thunder that is.
