New Steam Store UI Update Screenshots: Client Design Changes and Added Features [PICTURES]

The Steamdb blog for August 12, yielded some interesting information in regards to a new Steam Store. Valve has apparently made some changes to the popular Steam client, with added new features and an entirely different design.

Developer's stressed that the following changes are only projections, and as always, subject to additional editing.

The blog went into detail about what Valve was looking to change about the client, and even posted some screenshots of what that's going to look like.

One of the biggest and most evident changes to the Steam Store will be its front page, the main event. This time around it seems much more user friendly and comes in a shade of blue, something that's uncommon of the popular videogame program. Check out the new blue version of the Steam Store here.

Another exciting change that users will surely look forward to is a complete revamp of the "Search" feature on the Steam client. This time around it appears that searching filters have been changed, potentially allowing comparisons based on price, genre, and even ratings. Another feature that has been changed, is the way DRM is shown with their corresponding games, as well as the "Game hover" popup that provides additional information about listed titles. Check out the new "Game hover" popup here.

There's no doubt that major changes will eventually hit Valve's most popular client to date, but as it stands, no official word has been released. There's a chance that the new update will be available for download before the Steam Winter Sale launches this holiday season.
