Netflix's 'Daredevil' Cast News: Elodie Yung Cast as Elektra in Netflix’s 'Daredevil'

Daredevil, the popular Netflix original series, has found the actress who will be playing its Elektra. Elodie Yung, who also starred as Jinx in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, has landed the role, which was played by Jennifer Garner in 2003's Daredevil, The Movie, and 2005's Elektra movie.

Yung's Elektra has been described as "as mysterious woman from Matt Murdock's (Charlie Cox) past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle".

In season one, a reference was made to the character, when Matt told Foggy, who is played by Elden Henson, that thing "didn't work out" with a Greek girl.

Yung will be joining Jon Bernthal, who was recently added to the cast of the show for season two to play The Punisher.

The Punisher, whose real name is Frank Castle, is a martial arts expert, and a United States military veteran in the comic book.

He is a vigilante, whose goal is to clean up the New York City neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, no matter what it takes and no matter how fatal the results are.

The second season of Daredevil is currently in the production stage, and it is set for a premiere some time in 2016.

Recently, Cox and Henson were seen filming a scene for the new season in East Harlem. Rosario Dawson is also expected to reprise her role in the show as Claire Temple, and Deborah Ann Woll is expected to come back in the new season as Karen Paige.

Fans of the show who cannot wait for the new season to begin can keep their eyes open as more details about season two of Daredevil are revealed.
