NCIS Season 12 Release Date Spoilers: New Super Villian Introduced, Gibbs' Second Redhead Wife

One of CBS' top grossing shows, NCIS, will premiere its Season 12 later this year. The viewership of the show averages 57 million worldwide, and the series won the International Television Audience Award for a Drama TV Series at the 54th Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

The show's production and cast were thrilled to learn about their acclamation at the festival, "Thanks to our worldwide audience for helping us start the new season off right," Mark Harmon said in a joint statement with Gary Glasberg.

With that established, the awaited hit series is expected to have an explosive comeback. Although there are only minimal spoilers available for fans, reports say that show-runner Gary Glasberg and crew are finally ready to cast Gibbs' second redhead wife.

Also, there are rumors going around that say a new super villain will be introduced in the upcoming season. Everyone seems to be excited including actress Pauley Perette, who plays Abby Sciuto, she recently posted on twitter. "I'm so watching #NCIS rerun right now and am so excited about season 12. I love my job," she tweeted.

The show may be filled with love once again as Tony's character will have a better relationship with Pablo's character this season. Glasberg explains that he would have to balance everything, "If Tony's in a personal relationship or there's something significant happening for him and he wondered how she would respond, then maybe we can figure out a way to do it. It's a valid issue to bring up. Every time we bring her up, for Michael (Weatherly, who plays Tony), and for Tony, it pulls him back to be in that relationship again ... so it's a tricky balance," Glasberg told TVLine.

There has yet to be an official announcement concerning a specific date for the NCIS Season 12 release.
