'Narcos' Season 3 Release Date, Cast & Spoilers: The Cali Cartel Rises After Pablo Escobar's Death?

There's no release date yet for the "Narcos" season 3, but news about a cast change has been going around as the series chronicles the rise of the Cali cartel following Pablo Escobar's death.

One good thing about the "Narcos" season 3 cast news is that Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Agent Pena, as can be gleaned from the Twitter post where the production is back to resume filming for new episodes.

Previous news revealed that the cast will be back for season 3 and 4 even if Pablo Escobar is not going to survive season 2.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Eric Newman said that while Escobar is central to the story, cocaine and drugs go beyond him.

"There's a reason why we call this show Narcos and not Pablo Escobar," he explained. "It's very much about the trade. There are other drug dealers and there are alliances formed against Pablo [in season two], so there are a multitude of stories we could tackle."

Meanwhile, rumors are going around about the news of "Narcos" season 3 not welcoming back cast regular Agent Murphy (Boyd Holbrook).

But Holbrook hinted that he's still negotiating with the studio for a comeback. After all, Agent Murphy didn't leave the DEA until around 2014 so he would still be very active in the events that will be tackled in "Narcos" season 3. However, he did not give a hint about a release date for the Netflix series.

Watch out for more "Narcos" season 3 release date and cast news, as well as spoilers, which will be published here when they come along.
