'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Release Date News, Rumors: Creator Fully Hands-On In Episodes For Sophomore Season?

The premiere date for season 2 of "Mr. Robot" has already been announced to be in July this year, but the more interesting news is about the creator writing each 10 episodes of the series for the sophomore season.

What that means is that Sam Esmail may be making sure that Elliot Anderson's story is narrated just right, probably as a set up to a more interesting season 3.

In January this year, Esmail said in a news interview that he's not very keen about the shock value if it doesn't involve the main theme. Fans can expect more of the same on "Mr. Robot" season 2.

"Rami brilliantly plays Elliot in a way that draws you into his psyche, so you're learning it with him," he said. "As long as that's organic, as long as that feels real, then I think the twists will come from there, but it's not my agenda to keep shocking you. It really isn't."

Perhaps one of the biggest twists in the pilot season was the revelation that the character of Christian Slater was nothing more than just a figment of Elliot's imagination. However, fans will have to wait for the premiere date of "Mr. Robot" season 2 to find some sort of resolution for that storyline.

Esmail said that in "Mr. Robot" season 2, they will remain faithful to Elliot's journey as he struggles to cope with the realization of his psychosis. But he did say that they might introduce some twists that will derive from situations and circumstances experienced by the characters.

Meanwhile, Slash Film shared the rumors and multiple news reports about the plot for season 2 of "Mr. Robot" will focus on the mysterious three days when the hack was being carried out.

The premiere date for "Mr. Robot" season 2 will be on June 30 on USA Network.
