‘Mortal Kombat X’ Characters List: Ed Boon Teases New Line-Up on Twitter; Mystery Footwear?

Series creator Ed Boon tweeted an image of six different feet over Twitter to tease fans about the new character additions in the upcoming MK title, 'Mortal Kombat X'.

"Looks like one of the boots that were made for walkin' was Quan Chi's. #MKX," the tweet read.

The game features a roster of new and returning characters, the ones that have been confirmed as returning characters are Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Kano and Raiden.

Meanwhile, the scheming dark sorcerer's return to 'Mortal Kombat X' was announced last week. Aside from Quan Chi, there are five more grayed out thumbnails with question marks in the creator's tweet.

The longtime villain in the franchise, Quan Chi, made his debut in 'Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm', an animated television series. According to executive producer Shaun Himmerick, Quan Chi is a creature of the Netherrealm and will have a major part in the game's storyline.

The new character will have three variations, like all playable characters in the game, with slightly varying powers.

As a sorcerer, Quan Chi, can use spells to boost his own power or damage his opponents. As a summoner, he can call a giant bat from the Netherrealm to create chaos. His final power will be becoming a warlock, which gives the ability to open "interdimensional dark portals" to be used on his advantage.

This character's use of dark portals is perhaps one of the most gruesome moves in 'Mortal Kombat X', according to News Hub. Its damage level is also one of the highest. Franchise fans should definitely look forward to using Quan Chi.

'Mortal Kombat X', developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by WB Games, is set to be released next year on April 14. The game will be for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
