Miranda Kerr, Orlando Bloom Divorce Sparks Religious Declaration from Model, 'I'm Not Buddhist, Orlando is, I'm Christian'

Super star model Miranda Kerr recently made a profession of faith in an interview, and although her explanation is a bit confusing, admitting a particular belief is rare in the entertainment industry.

"I pray every day," she told The Telegraph. "I meditate every day and I do yoga. I'm not religious, I'm spiritual. And praying is something my grandmother taught me as well. To pray and be grateful, have gratitude, is a big thing for me."

She continued, "...I'm not Buddhist. Orlando is, I'm Christian," she stated. She is referring to her ex-husband Orlando Bloom, who she recently divorced.

She told Telegraph that her faith is what helped her get through some particularly tough trials in her life, most notably the death of her first boyfriend while she was in High School. He died in a car crash.

"When I have challenges now, I feel like I sit with them, I try to look at things, because there's always a positive and a negative to everything," said Kerr. "And sometimes I'll speak to friends, and sometimes I'll just meditate and I'll visualize letting it go, or whatever it might be. Meditation and yoga, and having people, as I said, who you trust, who you talk to. But also writing. I like to write, and then I can rip it up or burn it."

Kerr really seems to be into meditation and chanting, which is where the Christianity and Buddhism confusion comes in. In an interview with HollyBaby.com in 2011, she spoke about it.

"The whole time I was pregnant, I was chanting to my son and when I was giving birth, Orlando was chanting. So that was the first thing he heard when he came out into the world, Nam-Myo-Renge-Kyo. It's pronounced 'Nam-Me-oh-ho-Ren-gay-Key-oh'. And now we chant as a family. Flynn sits there and has his little beads. He loves it."

She continued, "I think it's really important to be first and foremost spiritually fit because it really radiates beauty for the rest of your life!"

Kerr has been modeling since she was 13, but came into prominence in 2007 when she landed a Victoria's Secret gig, and replaced Gisele Bundchen. The 31-year-old mother of one, has also modeled for Clinique, PINK, Maybelline, and H&M.

What do you think of Kerr's comments? Is she confused, or is she just misunderstood?
