Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date Rumors: Discounts on Surface Pro 3 via Best Buy Hint Successor Device

When a company starts slashing the price of a particular device model, it is supposed to be an indication of the fact that the next-gen product is imminent. As the U.S. retail giant Best Buy has already offered huge discounts for Microsoft Surface 3 bundles, it is expected that its successor the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 may be drawing near.

According to Christian Today, in addition to the 2014 Windows-based tablet being offered for as low as $600 at Best Buy, the retailer is currently also offering a deal whereby buyers can swap their functioning tablets for a Surface Pro 3. According to the trade deal, buyers can avail an impressive discount up to $200 by combining the topmost price of their trade-in tablet, in addition to a $50 gift card.

In addition to the Current deal from Best Buy, it is expected that Microsoft will release the Surface Pro 4 in July. According to reports, the Redmond, Washington-based tech giant is simply waiting for a favorable moment for the big reveal. Kdramastars quotes an unidentified source claiming, "The Surface Pro is going to be available on July 2015. The reason why this hasn't been announced yet is because Microsoft wants to make this announcement a big deal and they are waiting for the perfect event so that they could announce it there."

Encouraged by the success of the Surface Pro 3, Microsoft recently launched the Surface 3, promoting the device as a combination of the tech savvies of the Pro and the price range of the original Surface. Nevertheless, for Microsoft fans and power users, the Surface Pro 4 would be the tablet to buy once it releases.

According to the advertisements released by Microsoft, the upcoming Surface Pro 4 will run with the latest Windows 10 OS, and be available in two versions - a 12-inch mid-range spec one and a higher-end 14-inch model. Both the models will sport a 2160 x 1440 resolution, but have different RAM. The high-end model may sport up to 16 GB RAM - twice that of the Surface Pro 3. In addition, the 14-inch Surface Pro 4 may come with as much as 1 TB of storage.
