'Metal Gear Solid 5' Release Date: Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC Launches All Coming Before April 2015

Hideo Kojima's 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' is nearing its release date set for the first quarter of next year. In other words, the fifth 'Metal Gear Solid' title will be available no later than April 2015. The highly anticipated game will release on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The original reveal trailer of 'Metal Gear Solid 5' by Moby Dick Studio did not make mention of Metal Gear at all. Nevertheless, eagle-eyed gamers detected the similarity to Big Boss and soon the dots were connected.

After developing a completely new game engine, Kojima and his team required additional time to complete The Phantom Pain title. This is the primary reason for the 'Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes' prequel release, to give fans a little something.

Ground Zeroes, which focus on Big Boss' endeavor to free two child prisoners from a US Blacksite on Cuban soil, introduced several of the gameplay elements as well as plot points that will be incorporated into 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain'.

After the series of events in Ground Zeroes, where the X.O.F basically wiped out Big Boss' Militaires San Frontieres guerilla army, The Phantom Pain will continue the story nine years later. After being in coma for nine years and having lost his arm in the X.O.F. assault, Big Boss now assumes the codename Venom Snake and creates a new mercenary group, called the Diamond Dogs. Subsequently, he then travels to Afghanistan, in the midst of the Soviet War, to hunt down the men who were responsible for the attack.
