Christian CCM band MercyMe's newest album Welcome to the New reached the No. 1 spot on iTunes Christian sales and SoundScan charts all while single "Greater" reached the top 5 on Christian radio.

Lead singer Bart Millard said in a press release, "At 41-years-old, I feel like I am just starting to grasp who I am in Christ," adding, "I grew up in a somewhat legalistic environment where the harder you try, the better God likes you.

"It was about two years ago a dear friend of mine reminded me I cannot do enough great things to make Christ love me more than He already does. Not to mention, I can't sabotage this relationship and be taken from His hand," He continued, "In other words, all the work was truly done on the cross and I cannot mess it up! This is not a new season in my life, it is my life! Everything has changed from this point on, and I want to tell this to anyone who will listen and be the first to welcome them to the new!"

Also recently announced is the group's smash hit "I Can Only Imagine" is reaching Double Platinum status. Previously it was the first Christian single to ever reach Platinum.

Millard will also be co-hosting the 2014 Dove Awards with rapper Lecrae. The awards night, which celebrates the year's best in Christian music, takes place on October 7 at the Allen Arena at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. The show will be broadcast on TBN on October 12.

"I'm so excited to be part of this year's Dove Awards. The Doves are unique because they bring all styles of Gospel music together. Lecrae and I are just a small example of how different and yet unified this community is in sharing a message of love and hope through music," Millard said before joking, "To prove how unified we are, I will be freestylin' my fresh rhymes while Lecrae sings the chorus to 'I Can Only Imagine" over and over!"
