‘Mass Effect’ 4 Release Date Rumors: Game Still in Development Stage, Not Likely Launching Anytime Soon

The science fiction action role-playing third person shooter video game 'Mass Effect 4' is still in its development stage and its release date is anyone's guess. As Bioware, the developer, prefers to remain silent on the matter, many believe that the game will take years to finish.

Recently, Mike Gamble of the Canadian game developer Bioware said that currently they are developing the game, but cannot say for sure as to when it will be released. On a side note, the announcement of the game came to light by means of Amazon advertisements showing that 'Mass Effect 4' will come out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

All three previous games of the series have been highly praised for their plot, characters, romances, voice acting, as well as the depth of the galaxy. According to the gaming website GamesRadar, 'Mass Effect' is one of the best new franchises of the generation. The first installment was released on November 20, 2007 and the latest on March 6, 2012.

The trilogy mainly revolves around a soldier named Commander Shepard, whose mission is to save the galaxy from a race of powerful mechanical beings known as the Reapers.

Developed by BioWare, the trilogy was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows. Additionally, the third installment also released on the Wii U.

Fans of the franchise are eagerly waiting for the fourth version of 'Mass Effect'. Way back on Nov. 12, 2012, Bioware made an official announcement that they were working on the new 'Mass Effect', which is said to be produced in Montreal.

The developers officially announced that they are making a 'Mass Effect 4' at E3 2014 on June 9, 2014. However, they made mention that the title may not be 'Mass Effect 4'.
