'Mario Kart 8' DLC Release Date, News: New DLC Set To Feature A Kalimari Desert-esque Location

New details on the downloadable content (DLC) of Nintendo's "Mario Kart 8" have surfaced. Along with this, Nintendo America Head Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed the item in the game.

Nintendo is ready to shift its gears and launch a new group of downloadable content for its eighth "Mario Kart" game title, Nintendo Life has learned. As per the publication, the forthcoming content is attached to Nintendo's tweet on June 4.

It can be recalled that Nintendo UK tweeted on June 3 that the Kalimari Desert as a background, along with the text saying that good things come to those who wait. The locale was featured in "Mario Kart 64," which was launched in 1996, and in "Mario Kart 7." In line with the said desert, it is also assumed that the said locale is set to be the basis for the title's new location.

According to Christian Today, Nintendo still has to confirm the specific content title to be released for "Mario Kart 8." As per the publication, the gaming company is assumed to unveil it after the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016. Also, it is expected that the title will unlock new characters, vehicles, race options, and tracks.

Meanwhile, Nintendo President Fils-Aime has revealed the worst item in the "Mario Kart" game franchise. In his interview with E! News, he said that he hated getting inked, which suggests the ink is the worst item in the game title. The blooper item did not appear until "Mario Kart DS," which featured the blue shell the hits racers as the most hated thing.

Released on May 29, 2014, Nintendo's "Mario Kart 8" can be played on the Nintendo Wii.
