MacBook Air 2014 Release Date, Rumors, Specs: Tim Cook Talks Ultrafast and Ultrathin Notebook & Plan for Apple TV

Following Apple's successful unveiling of iPhone 6, Apple Watch, and Apple Pay at the Apple Keynote Conference Launch last week, the Cupertino tech giant is once again running the rumor mill with a number of possibilities for upcoming gadgets.

Rumor has it that Apple is currently working on a 12-inch slimmer MacBook Air that is expected to outsmart its predecessor, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.

However, there's no solid news as to when MacBook Air 2014 will be released, but considering the probability that it will run on either Intel Broadwell or Intel Core M processors, it is highly likely that Apple's new laptop will be out by mid-2015.

Another interesting development revealed by CEO Tim Cook in his interview on PBS Network's 'Charlie Rose' is the possibility of an Apple TV.

"TV is one that we continue to have great interest in. I choose my words carefully there. TV is one of those things that if we're really honest it's stuck back in the '70s," he said, "Think about how much your life has changed, and all the things around you that have changed. It almost feels like you're rewinding the clock and you've entered a time capsule and you're going backwards."

Apple has indeed started paving the way forward in the 21st century with their revolutionary gadgets like the ultrafast and ultrathin smartphones, the flagship smartwatch, and a potential Apple TV.

In one of his recent interviews, Cook mentioned that Apple is not the same company as it once was. Evidently, Apple has transitioned its inventions not only to to cater to functionality, but also to competitive design.
