Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal Shares Christian Testimony at Event as 2016 Presidential Rumors Continue [VIDEO]

2016 Presidential hopeful Louisiana Gov. Piyush 'Bobby' Jindal recently shared his testimony when he hosted 'The Response' Christian spiritual revival event at the LSU campus' Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Prior to converting to Roman Catholicism several decades ago, the now 43-year-old Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was previously raised as a Hindu by his Indian immigrant parents Amar and Raj Jindal.

"Twenty-seven years ago I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior on the LSU campus," said Jindal to the assembly at the Louisiana State University, according to a CBN report.

"I was a 16-year-old teenager and if you had gone back in time and said, 'One day, son, you're going to be governor of this great state and as governor you're going to call and host a time of prayer and renewal on that same campus,' it shows you that we worship an all-powerful God."

American Renewal Project organizer David Lane echoed the Republican politician's sentiments regarding the nation's need to have a better relationship with God.

"Only the Lord could restore America to its Judeo-Christian heritage and re-establish a Christian culture. Only the Lord could do that," said Lane.

However, at least 100 protesters voiced their opinions and disapproval regarding the latest religious event at the famed university.

"He (Jindal) shouldn't be doing it on a state campus. If they want to do that, go somewhere else," said rally dissenter Phyllis Nowak.

Nonetheless, one of the prayer service audience members Paul Abram wholeheartedly disagreed with the protesters' viewpoint.

"This has been a positive seed in the direction of getting the nation to turn its eyes back on the Lord," said Abram.

Recently, Jindal also addressed his views that America must select a God-fearing president in the upcoming election next year.

"You know, it is a time-honored tradition, going back to our nation's founding, for our presidents, for our leaders to turn to God for guidance, for wisdom," said Jindal to ABC News host George Stephanopoulos on the 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos' show in an interview.
