Christian rapper Lecrae continued his historic run of buzz for his new album Anomaly with an appearance on MTV. In his brief interview he broke down the songs "Welcome to America" and "All I Need is You."

"'Welcome to America' is a special song because I think everyone has a unique perspective on America. So I wrote the song from three different perspectives," he said. He explained that everyone views this country differently, and the first two people are from different communities while the third person in the narrative is not even from the country.

"It makes us take a step back and say, 'Wow, lets look at ourselves.'"

Lecrae answered the MTV reporter and said everyone wants to see a video for the song. "The images are vivid when I'm going through the song. You can hear, you can see what the characters are going through," said the No. 1 rapper.

He went on to mention that while he was traveling around Hong Kong and Australia he filmed some footage to get b-roll for a potential video. However, he is unsure of what will come of it.

He then addressed the song "All I Need is You," which was written about his wife in a "unique perspective."

"When you think about hip-hop, and you think about relationships, I think we you see Jay-Z and Beyonce, you say, 'Ok, marriage is cool now'. They just set a trend," he responded when asked to elaborate, "Continuing with that trend of what if we're monogamous, what if we are consistent in our relationships, what if we tell the truth, what if we don't lie, what if we don't cheat?"

"You have to continue to set trends and be different," he exclaimed.
