Lea Michele Interview on 'Ellen' Dec 2013, 'Glee' Star Sharing on Life After Cory Monteith Passing, Watch Here (VIDEO)

Lea Michele stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform her new single "Cannonball" and open up with Ellen about moving forward after the tragic loss of her boyfriend and co-star, Cory Monteith.

When asked about her decision to head back to work, Lea shared, "Ya well Ryan Murphy, who is so amazing, he came to Kate [Hudson]'s house and he said what do you want to do, whatever you want to do we'll do. I said I have to go back to work. We have to do this is, they're my family and what people also don't understand is that going to work is no harder than being at home and being in the house and opening up a closet and seeing a pair of shoes.

She continued, "There's this grief that goes with you everyday, whatever you're doing. When there are great moments, [there are] hard moments so I'd rather, for me, be at work with the people who I love that are going through [it] and it obviously has it's own triggers, but at the end of the day I feel so safe there. And like I said, they're my family."

We are glad to see Lea Michele out and doing well. She is such a strong woman for dealing with such a huge loss in the public eye and coming out stronger on the other side. We wish her nothing but the best!

The 27-year-old "Glee" actress has her first solo album Louder releasing March 4, 2014. Her first single "Cannonball" released on Tuesday and is now available on iTunes.
