Lacey Sturm's 'The Reason: How I Discovered a Life Worth Living' Now Out; Suicide & Depression is Not too Much for God

Lacey Sturm

Former Flyleaf singer Lacey Sturm just released her first book, 'The Reason - How I Discovered a Life Worth Living', which is now available in stores, and she is making her way spreading her story of hope and redemption.

The book chronicles her struggles with drug abuse, depression, and suicidal thoughts as she came to know Jesus before it was too late.

The book can be purchased here. Read the BREATHEcast review here.

'The Reason' is a tale of two stories. The first half covers the darkness of her life while the second half is the light. They are complete opposite spirals for life - one out of control and one on fire for God.

"I think filtering your life through unbelief, filtering your life to thinking there is not a God will always go to a dark place. I feel like outside of God we end up in dark place," she told BC, "If we're not created with a purpose. If we're not created in love with a loving creator behind us, then I feel like if we really dig deep into why we're here and what our purpose is and where we're headed and what the meaning of life is, it always takes to a dark place if life can't make you happy."

The tagline of the book is "Revelations of a Rock Princess." This is something she put out there to not hype herself up, but to let everyone know they are royalty in God's kingdom.

"The idea behind that is we are all royalty in the kingdom of heaven. To recognize what royalty is, it's a normal person with issues and struggles and decides that they are going to keep living and change the world for the better."
