Kirk Cameron is getting behind a historic initiative called Pray31, which is calling for congregations from coast to coast, to shake up the country by experiencing the power of intensive, purposeful prayer.

Pray31 is part of a nationwide movement with the ultimate goal of getting one million people to pray in the month of October for America from the 1^st to the 31^st, in hopes that it will remain "one nation under God." Pray31 is offering a short 31-day guide, called Pray31 U.S. Prayer Atlas.

Cameron took to social media to encourage people everywhere to unite in prayer for the great country. "America needs prayer like you and I need air. Here's a really cool idea for you and your church to do leading up to our elections. Play the video and see!" Cameron wrote on his Facebook page along with a video message.

The pray31 guide is a day-by-day itinerary and only takes a few minutes every day, praying for that day's requests. "There are only two requests per day, but even though it won't take much time it will make a huge impact," the site stated.

President and founder of the World History Institute, Marshall Foster, is heading Pray31. Foster was featured in Cameron's film 'Monumental' in which he and Cameron set out to reveal that the pilgrims gave America a blueprint for a successful nation and it was built upon the principals of God.

Cameron is very outspoken on his views of America and has been adamant about the fact that the country was founded on Christian principals.

"Faith is always involved in politics, even those who are secular humanists, they are importing their secular humanist faith and religion and morality and imposing it on everybody else through the laws that they make," Cameron said in a past interview on WallBuilders Live, "So the idea of faith in government is inescapable; it's always going to be somebody's faith, even if it's faith in atheism."

Christians popularly believe the power of prayer has always proven to be a prevailing combatant to the difficulties of life, and Cameron is no different. With the impending threat of ISIS to the U.S. and the division on immigration as well as many other issues affecting the United States, Pray31 is way to unite God's people to pray for one nation under God.
