Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date: Xbox One, PS4 Versions Launched at E3 2014?

While speculation is rife that "Kingdom Hearts" 3 may be released during the forthcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Square Enix producer Shinji Hashmioto is yet to confirm the rumors.

Gematsu reports that replying to a question on whether the new game will be released during E3, Shinji told the media at the recent Comic-Con, "We would like to keep it secret."

He added, "Actually not only do we have June, but there will be many events from now on such as San Diego Comic-Con, Tokyo Game Show, and others."

When one fan pressed Shinji to reveal further details about "Kingdom Hearts" 3, Shinji remarked, "We are sorry," adding, "They are secret."

He further said, "I'm pretty sure you will be surprised."

Earlier in 2014, Yosuke Matsuda, Square Enix President and CEO, told Nikkei that his company was very confident about releasing "Kingdom Hearts" 3 and "Final Fantasy" XV soon. While stating that he was unable to share more details, the games would possibly be released during the upcoming E3.

At that time, Yosuke said that the games were in the process of being developed and, hence, he could not share much information regarding them.

Meanwhile, Yoshinori Kitase told Video Gamer earlier this year the two games were being developed on a priority basis.

He said, "We can't give too much information but certainly looking at Final Fantasy XV, it's not as if it's in competition with Kingdom Hearts 3 for resources or anything like that."

Yoshinori further stated, "It's quite far into development now and it is being given a very high priority within the company itself, but that doesn't mean Kingdom Hearts isn't."

It may be noted here that "Kingdom Hearts" is scheduled for release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
