Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date Not Before 2015, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix Scheduled for December 2014

Sony officially announced at E3 that the long awaited Kingdom Hearts III game will be coming out on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, however, it is unlikely that the game will be released before 2015.

In fact, the Japanese game developer has not included the game in its list for probable releases this year. In addition, Sony co-director Tai Yasue recently announced that Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 in early December. This is also an indication that Kingdom Hearts III will not be released in 2014.

According to Yasue, Kingdom of Hearts 2.5 Remix will expand on the refreshing characters in the knotty narrative of the series.

In an interview with Pygon, Yasue said, "I think it's really accessible for the younger generation, (but) story-wise, it's a bit complex," adding, "By having 1.5 and 2.5, I think it will be easier to play Kingdom Hearts 3 and understand that story. We wanted the players to experience that in HD and relearn it and re-experience it."

It is worth mentioning that the original Kingdom Hearts was released almost 12 years ago, therefore, it is essential to explore the several connections between the games, in order to completely comprehend the new Kingdom Hearts III.

Yasue further explained, "As a developer myself, you start to forget what's happened," adding, "There are so many (games). In a way, it's a learning experience for us too."

Earlier, developer Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu magazine that most of his time is spent on developing the story for Kingdom Hearts III, he also stated that fan reviews pertaining to the most recent footage of the game was excellent.

"It seems like everyone was happy, so I'm glad about that," Noruma said, "However, while we know how far we've come from a development point of view, what we showed still has 'ways to go."
