Fans of the 'Kingdom Hearts' franchise have been eagerly awaiting news about the upcoming third installment to the video game series. However, there has not been much word about the new game until today, when one of the game's designers stepped in for an interview.

When speaking with Kotaku, co-director and game designer on 'Kingdom Hearts 3', Tai Yasue had some interesting information about what gamers can expect when the game finally launches.

On that note, and in regards to the release date for 'Kingdom Hearts 3', there's no is official date set for the game's launch.

Stepping back into the interview, Yasue was reluctant to reveal too many details about the game, but did manage to spill some of the beans.

He said, "Yeah, I can't go into specifics, but there's a LOT of new Disney stuff and we have our plates full," adding, "Theres a lot to consider - we're looking at all of Disney, the new ones as well, they have a lot of pull and draw."

He went on to say that a lot of consideration has gone into the planning of the game. He said that's it's important to set the game in the right worlds, and to assess whether running around in that universe would be fun for the gamer.

Tai Yasue said, "For each world there has to be some meaning for it, in the plot; in Birth By Sleep, for instance, in the Cinderella scene, the characters learn something specific by relating to Cinderella. Also, gameplay-wise, is that world something that would make gameplay fun? There's a lot I can't say, but there's so much to consider."

Moving toward the matter at hand, the co-director was asked about the implementation of Marvel or 'Star Wars' based characters into 'Kingdom Hearts 3'.

To the excitement of the franchise's player base, Yasue said that something along those lines is a possibility.

"Well, yeah. They're all under consideration," adding, "Nothing's off-limits, we're considering all of the worlds. There are so many wonderful concepts. We're happy about that, but at the same time it's really tough to choose."

While there is no release date set for 'Kingdom Hearts 3' at the moment, gamers should be on the look out for more information and details about the game so that they're ready for it when it hits store shelves.

Last but not least, rumors about the release date for the game have slated a launch sometime in the year 2017. While these rumors have not been confirmed, fans are eagerly marking their calendars anyway.
