‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Release Date, New Characters: Director on Extra Content, Nomura to Add Marvel & Star Wars?

Tetsuya Nomura, the former director of 'Final Fantasy XV', said he is working on incorporating many of the characters that fans are looking to see in the upcoming 'Kingdom Hearts 3' game. The title is set to launch in May 2015 for the PS3 and PS4.

The hype for the highly-anticipated game has become stronger since rumors started to spread about the incorporation  of "Marvel" and "Star Wars" into the game. The 'Kingdom Hearts 3' director admitted that he would want it to happen, but that includes a long and rigorous process of acquiring licenses.

There are many restraints to consider when it comes to franchises, according to the former 'Final Fantasy XV' director. He said it would be great to add these licenses, however, "there are lots of rules and restrictions by Disney so we can't actually put in everything people want."

Although Nomura can't put in all desired characters in the game, he assured gamers who have been anticipating the new game's release that "this battle will surely last longer."

"In Kingdom Hearts 3 as well, I am scheming many challenges that Sora and his friends must overcome, because I myself cannot lose either," Nomura said, "and in preparation for the great battle that lies ahead, we have this one book that looks back on their entire journey."

Meanwhile, Square Enix streamed a video on Thursday of 'Kingdom Hearts' series director drawing Sora. It was used to promote the release of the 'Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX', which was shipped out for the PlayStation 3 in Japan on Thursday.

The video game company, Square Enix, started a Twitter campaign to support Nomura's work on the third game. Many fans of the series tweeted to show their support for the director. 'Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX' is also slated to ship in North America on Dec. 2 and in Phase Alternating Line (PAL) territories on Dec. 5.
