Kesha Eating Disorder: Pop Star Extends Rehab Stay and Cancels Upcoming Tour Dates

Kesha decided to postpone her March and April tour dates because she needs more time to deal with her eating disorder. The singer checked herself into Timberline Knolls rehabilitation center near Chicago in the beginning of the year.

The singer's people told TMZ she decided to push back her shows so she can "remain committed" to her ongoing treatment. She originally stated she was undergoing a 30-day treatment program - she has now been in for 34 days.

Kesha admitted herself to rehab for an eating disorder brought upon by her lifestyle in the public eye.

The singer has had a lot of success as her pop tunes have topped the charts time after time. Her controversial outfits and stage antics have gotten a lot of media attention, but it appears she is taking a longer break from the carefree, anything goes, rock star life.

Kesha confessed in an interview with Metro that she did not realize at first how many eyes would be on her after releasing her first album.

When the news initially broke, the California girl took to Facebook and posted, "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice," she said. "I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder to learn to love myself again exactly as I am."

Surrounding several controversies that her label head and record producer Dr Luke forced her to sing songs that she did not want to, came the new rumors that he also in fact bullied her into an eating disorder, multiple reports said.

The singer leaked a song called "Dancing with the Devil," which did not make her last record. The song which alludes to her label head, speaks on her relinquished control to this "devil."

Kesha stated 2014 would be her breakthrough year, and since the singer is taking her rehabilitation process very seriously and taking this time to "love herself," music lovers must pray that she finds the truth of God and His love for her.
