Kari Jobe

Popular worship artist Kari Jobe was on the K-LOVE Fan Awards red carpet where BREATHEcast had the opportunity to chat about her Female Artist of the Year nomination.

"It's sweet, I love this weekend. I love hanging out with the fans and getting to hear stories of what God's doing, and the impact we're getting to make with our music, that's what it's about, so it's good to hear it," said Jobe.

The singer also provided the music for that morning's worship service along with her husband Cody Carnes. Jobe excitedly said working with her husband is "awesome."

She continued, "It's been really sweet that I get to marry a husband who's passionate about the same things and we get to do it together."

Jobe explained that her summer will be filled with touring with Chris Tomlin and Hillsong UNITED. She will also be working on a new project.

BC LIVE- KARI JOBE K-LOVE FAN AWARDS

Jobe won a Dove Award for Praise and Worship Album of the Year with her latest record Majestic.

"When I die, if I was known for one thing, I would want to be known for [helping people] fall more in love with Jesus," Jobe said in a press release concerning her newest album, "So I don't care what song I sing, if the heart of it is that people fall more in love with Jesus and they understand the heart of God for them."

Majestic is different from her first two major label studio releases being that it was recorded entirely live. The album also features all-new material with the exception of Jobe's cover of "Holy Spirit." On Majestic, Jobe wrote nearly 50 songs in the development of the project, and included co-writes with well-known worship leaders Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Brian & Jenn Johnson, Paul Baloche, and Reuben Morgan, just to name a few.

"I've been a worship leader for over 15 years and grew up leading worship. It just made sense to do a live project and just write for the church and to do songs that are more congregational, just with people in mind that are going to be singing these songs in church," she said to BreatheCast.
