Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest ended their three-year relationship last year and both celebrities were since quiet about the true reason behind it. However, in her recent interview with Redbook Magazine, the 25-year-old Safe Haven star admitted that it was her that pulled the plug on their relationship.

"Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right. I had one foot out because I didn't want to get hurt. And I didn't say what was on my mind because I didn't want to ruffle any feathers," Hough explained adding that their hectic schedules also got in the way.

After her breakup with the American Idol host, Hough went on a family retreat and found a new perspective in handling relationships, "I had this epiphany when my family went to a six-day seminar (last November) about creating your own destiny," she told the magazine, "I learned so much about myself and why my relationships didn't work that by the end I was on a high. I was seeing a couple people, but immediately [pretends to text guys], 'You are nice, but this is going nowhere," the Footloose star added.

Hough met hockey player Brooks Laich through a mutual friend and they been an item since December 2013. She shared that what she learned from her past relationships is to be completely honest with her partner.

"Now I'm not holding anything back, because I'd rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love. If I had been this open in my last relationship, who knows?" she added.
